Markets, Markets Galore in Lancaster County

Markets, Markets Galore in Lancaster County

Spring starts the beauty and enjoyment of markets everywhere it seems in Lancaster County.  One that I thoroughly enjoy is the Leola Produce Auction.  I am always awed by the Amish coming with their wagons filled to the brim with watermelons, sweet corn, peppers and so much more. On the other side of the line you will find the "English" person with his load in a pick up truck or a tractor pulling a wagon.  Inside you will find baskets upon basket of any color potato, pepper, pumpkins and other produce.  The auction takes place a couple of times a week. In the early spring it is the start of auctioning flats of flowers, bedding plants, trees and shrubs.  The colors are like a canvas and you can hardly absorb all that you are seeing.  I love it here!
Want to know where you can find other great auctions in the area?  Come stay at the Olde Square Inn and we would be delighted to share with you the hidden gems in our area. Many are within fifteen minutes of the inn. Some markets are on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.  Better yet if you book on ahead we will take you to some of these market places (tour fee).  Stay two nights at the Olde Square Inn in April and receive 25% off your second night.
