"The Turkey Hill Experience"

"The Turkey Hill Experience Is Coming"

They tell us it will be completed in June of 2011.  What is going to be completed.....a place where you can go to see and experience how ice cream is made, how flavors are selected and you can even make your own flavor!
The Ashley & Bailey Silk Mill was the former site of the "The Turkey Hill Experience".
The first floor will feature a large creamery that is free to the public.  There will be nine large, interactive exhibit areas designed to introduce and educate visitors about dairies.  Guests will be educated regarding the history of Turkey Hill Dairy and much more.
You can go to the Turkey Hill Experience to keep updated on its progress and when the actual opening day will be.
You will be surprised and inspired by the experience at this new venture.
Remember to make your reservations at the Olde Square Inn, Mount Joy PA for your getaway to this new venture as we are only fifteen minutes from the site.  We will even tell you how to find some of the best wineries in the area and do a bit of antiquing.  Like to hike and go kayaking we can tell you the good spots to go to!

Markets, Markets Galore in Lancaster County

Markets, Markets Galore in Lancaster County

Spring starts the beauty and enjoyment of markets everywhere it seems in Lancaster County.  One that I thoroughly enjoy is the Leola Produce Auction.  I am always awed by the Amish coming with their wagons filled to the brim with watermelons, sweet corn, peppers and so much more. On the other side of the line you will find the "English" person with his load in a pick up truck or a tractor pulling a wagon.  Inside you will find baskets upon basket of any color potato, pepper, pumpkins and other produce.  The auction takes place a couple of times a week. In the early spring it is the start of auctioning flats of flowers, bedding plants, trees and shrubs.  The colors are like a canvas and you can hardly absorb all that you are seeing.  I love it here!
Want to know where you can find other great auctions in the area?  Come stay at the Olde Square Inn and we would be delighted to share with you the hidden gems in our area. Many are within fifteen minutes of the inn. Some markets are on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.  Better yet if you book on ahead we will take you to some of these market places (tour fee).  Stay two nights at the Olde Square Inn in April and receive 25% off your second night.

Location: AACA Museum Grounds
We are pleased to invite you to support Castaway Critters in its first annual "Cool Cars for Cats and Canines."  it is the area's ONLY exotic car show.  This year's show will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on the grounds surrounding the AACA Museum in Hershey and will feature more than 40 "exotic" vehicles from four different states.  Among the participating cars, some are extremely rare and a few have received a perfect 100-points in concourse judging.

Proceeds from the show will help support their work and provide vet care and loving homes to animals that have been abandoned or abused.  In addition to rescuing these animals that are often sick or injured, they also promote Trap-Neuter-Release, the only solution to pet overpopulation.  A $5.00 donation will be collected at the gate for all adults attending the show.   Discount admission coupons to visit the AACA Museum will be available on the day of the event.
