2011 marks the ninth annual Taste of Mount Joy Cruisin’ Cuisine, held on Main Street in Mount Joy. The show area runs from Barbara Street to Manheim Street and has been expanded to include a portion of Marietta Avenue. The show draws nearly 200 cars in these classes: antique, classic, muscle car, street rod, corvette, custom and classic motorcycle, antique and classic truck and fire engines.  A NEW  feature
this year is the addition of tractors. Last year, nearly 50 trophies, sponsored by area businesses and civic organizations,  were awarded. A highlight of the show includes more than a dozen area restaurants selling their finest food to the thousands of visitors who come to see the vast variety of cars.

Before the evening begins if you choose not to do a tailgate picnic we would be delighted to help you with reservations and an excellent restaurant within walking distance of the inn.

After dinner you can begin your leisurely drive to Nissley Vineyards, approximately twenty minutes from the inn.

Hometown Festivities and Fireworks for the Fourth of July!

Come to Lancaster County for the Fourth of July!

A vacation with lots of fun and activities without spending a lot of money!  
In Lancaster County you will find great festivities happening for the Fourth of July.
On July 3 the sweet river town of Marietta will be hosting fireworks. 
 July 4 the community of Mountville puts on a spectacular display of fireworks at the Community Pool which is displayed for miles to be seen. 
Spend the night at the Olde Square Inn and have a glass of ice tea on the veranda.
Better yet bring your swimsuit and take a dip in the beautiful pool.  There are excellent restaurants to walk to and great places to shop.  Mount Joy is a growing community of shops, antiques, boutiques, art and a whole lot more!

Columbia 30th Antique, Art & Craft Show

This little rivertown comes to life on this day!  Over 225 vendors displaying their wares representative of the show's title.  This is a free event.  
The event is held on the main street of the town up into the little park.
Remember to stop by Hinkle's and get your lime rickey, cherry or vanilla coke as it is still a place that brings a smile and takes you back in time a bit.
Stay at the Olde Square Inn only ten minutes from Columbia.  
Breakfast will be served and you can have it on the beautiful porch if you like.  While here take a dip in our beautiful pool!

Riverfest along the Susquehanna River

RiverFest along the Great Susquehanna River
June 26, from 4:30-9:30 p.m.

Rivertownes PA USA will host RiverFest 2011 Sunday, June 26 from 4:30-9:30 p.m.
The event will take place along the river on the grounds of John Wright Store & Restaurant located on North Front Street in Wrightsville.
This event will host great music, food and a great time along the river!
The event will culminate with the lighting of three of the bridge piers that once carried the mile long covered bridge burned during the Civil War.  Lighting will take place at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Bring lawn chairs and a small admission of $2.00 per adult.
Bring your kayak, bike and hiking shoes while staying at the Olde Square Inn.  We can get you to the local covered bridge, places to canoe or kayak, taste the wines at the local wineries, explore the food markets and garden markets, art galleries and a whole lot more!
In the morning you will have a delicious breakfast that could be served on the beautiful porch. 
Oh, remember to bring your swimming suit for the dip in the pool!  The gas light will be turned on at the fountain.
There are great restaurants within walking distance of the inn. 
 Little driving but a whole lot of enjoyment!

Come out and enjoy the great Susquehanna River where beauty lies within the boundaries of the river.  You will have a great evening of fun, exploring and excellent food in the Rookery at Shank's Mare.
End your evening in your choice of a guest room at the Olde Square Inn.  
In the morning a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you on the porch, weather permitting.  You may even catch a glimpse of the Amish on their way to church that morning.
We have great restaurants such as Bube's Brewery and many more within walking distance.  Need help with knowing where to go out what to explore such as the wineries, markets, art galleries?  We will get you in touch with them, just ask and we will gladly assist you!
Paddling, dinner and one night stay at the inn (does not include carriage house or Key Largo) is $275.00.  This includes your dinner in the Rookery at Shank's Mare, kayak (double, singles are extra charge) one night stay at the inn and breakfast in the morning. Columbia Cruisin Car Show

Did the picture get your attention?  This is often how the "great looking classic car or antique car" has been retrieved.  It is only the by the imagination, alot of hard work and money of the buyer that the car is transformed into a gem!
Come to Columbia PA along Locust Street where you will find plenty of food and hopefully hundreds of cars.  Last year over 300 vehicles attended this event.  
Vehicle entry is open to antiques, street rods, customs, muscle cars, corvettes and motorcyles.
Bring your love or your car and stay at the Olde Square Inn just ten minutes away.  While here you can visit the Harley Davidson plant in York.  
A great breakfast will be waiting for you and you can take dip in the beautiful in-ground pool!
