SUMMERTIME IN LANCASTER COUNTY

Experiencing Leola Produce Auction when visiting Lancaster County is a must.  This is a photographer's delight at this venue!
The auction takes place Monday through Friday usually.
The Amish bringing their wares by horse and wagon. 
The English are bringing their goodies by truck and just to see the contrast is fascinating.
Sitting side by side, both will be loaded with whatever is in season such as corn, peppers, watermelons, blueberries, peaches and a whole lot more. 
If you can think of it and it grows in the soil or on a tree you might find it at the Leola Produce Auction.
There will be buckets of glorious sunflowers, snapdragons, bachelor buttons and many other variety of flowers.
Make sure you grab a sandwich at the little snack bar.  It always taste better when you are outside scouting for goodies.
When walking the aisle you find fifteen different colors of peppers, ten different potatoes, the colors just "pop" out at you.
Come to Lancaster County, stay at the Olde Square Inn where the pool is open for you, breakfast on the veranda and a good night's sleep awaits you.

There are so many special features on this part of the Susquehanna River below the Holtwood Dam.  Join us on this paddle tour to explore the unique geological formations and view the variety of wildlife that inhabits this area.  We will also be able to visit re-constructed locks from the old Susquehanna Canal.  We recommend some paddling experience for this tour.

What is it?
An outdoor gathering of local restaurants, vineyards, microbreweries, art galleries and more at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum. This festival is intended for those who enjoy good food, fine wine, craft beer and lively music. Along with showcasing the talents of local chefs, this festival will feature chef demonstrations by Fabio Viviani, the very popular contestant in Bravo's reality cooking competition series "Top Chef 5: New York" and "Top Chef 8: All-Stars". Fabio is the Owner and Executive Chef of CafĂ© Firenze in Ventura County, California and is also the author of a top selling cookbook of the same name, and by Rocky Fino, author of "Will Cook for Sex".

The Food & Spirits Festival will be held at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum (2451 Kissel Hill Road, Lancaster) on Sunday, July 17, 2011, from 2:00-7:00 PM.
Who is producing this event?
Lancaster Newspapers Inc. is producing the Food and Spirits Festival. This event was conceived to provide additional opportunities to connect local businesses with potential customers. We do this every day, 365 days a year in our print products and online. The goal is to expand that effort and provide a venue for our customers to meet the people they need to meet.
