Strasburg Mud Sale, Lancaster County PA

February 25, 2012

It is the first of the season at the Strasburg Fire Company.  People come from across the country to attend this gathering. There called "Mud Sales" because at this time of the year the earth is thawing and freezing and depending on the weather it could be fairly deep in the mud where your mud sale will be held.
Everything is sold from creatures such as horses, furniture, landscaping, building materials and the list goes on.
The food is the best at a mud sale and the smells that come from the food stands are enticing.  Chicken Corn soup, homemade pies, b-cue and many more things to tempt your taste buds.
This is a gathering where friends are made and you return each year to see one another and catch up on your families.
These events are well attended by Amish families.
While at the mud sale we would love to have you come and stay with us at the Olde Square Inn.  Check our reviews on Trip Advisor.  The fireplace is waiting and a delicious breakfast in the morning to be served in the morning.
I love the history of the Amish and know it well. I would love to share it with you when you come to visit us.
