Here are some of their words:

I have never slept so well
Breakfast was delicious
We are leaving feeling renewed
I feel at home here
Your inn is kept so very clean
The pool is refreshing
Love the town and the restaurants, little shops and we don't have to drive.

Kayak Demon Days along the Susquehanna River at Shanks Mare

"Shank's Mare Demo Days"

May 11 and 12, 2013

Shank's Mare is the best in being an outfitter for those who love the water.
On Demo Days you can take the kayaks or stand up paddle boards for a trial run out into the river.
I learned to kayak from these folks and they did a great job.
Their store is inviting and makes you want to settle in for a bit.
The staff is helpful and informative.
Shank's Mare doesn't only have kayaks and paddle boards but they do eco tours, river tours, caves, and their paddle breakfast or dinners in the Rookery are outstanding.
When warm weather comes they will do music on a Friday night on the front porch, the rookery or along the beautiful Susquehanna River.
We are located just a short jaunt to Shank's Mare.

Lititz, The Coolest Small Town in America

Lititz PA

Voted

"The Coolest Small Town in America"

Coming in the "back way" from our inn just fifteen minutes from Lititz starts me at the charming and best part of the town.

Wilbur Chocolates is located here.  Love their chocolate, smooth and just absolutely delicious.

Lititz Springs Park, filled with raceways of water fed by a natural spring.  You will find people gathering for a picnic or feeding the many ducks.

Across the street is Tomato Pie Cafe a favorite of mine. Small, quaint, outside dining and great food.

Up the street is a lovely consignment store "AlwaysNew To You".  It is a nice shopping experience here.  Upscale clothing at a great price.  Always organized and eye catching displays.

Turn the corner and you will find Clemintines.  A very cute boutique that carries much in cotton, light clothing always on the cutting edge of fashion.  These folks have an eye for the apparel they stays in style.

Don't forget  Cafe' Chocolate ...what can I say but a chocolate lover's heaven.

This gives you a start to your day in Lititz.  Stay with us and we will help you find a bit more hidden gems.

Covered Bridge Tour through Lancaster County

"Covered Bridge Tour"
In
Lancaster County

When I drive across a covered bridge I love hearing the boards of the floor "sing".

Envision the men who carried the hand hewn beams, the floor boards, the arches,  being taken through the sawmill.  Horses bringing wagon loads of boards to erect these wonderful pieces of architecture that are now landmarks of history.

Just think no computers, no graph paper, no phones but simply the talents and minds of great men with a vision.

They were built to have access across the streams but also to hopefully withstand the storms and floods. So many of these bridges did withstand the storms for over a hundred of years.

Picnics were held on these bridges, marriage proposals were made and some loved doing the catwalk of the arches inside these bridges.  Romantics danced on these bridges.

Strasburg Scotters is starting tours  April 1, 2013.

You will travel many of the back roads of this county that has some of the most beautiful countryside in America.

The Beach Boys, Let's Go to the Beach

American Music Theater
Presents
"THE BEACH BOYS"

Their music takes us away to the beach, and relaxes our spirits. You want to draw closer to your partner.

I loved to dance to the music these guys made.

The park dances held locally played lots of Beach Boys music and Soul where we gathered for local dance parties.

A time when life was simpler and the art of the dance was loved.
